Report: Wintershall Dea works on options of leaving Russia
BERLIN, Apr 26 (PRIME) -- German energy company Wintershall Dea is working out options for exiting the Russian market, Reuters reported on Wednesday quoting CEO Mario Mehren.
The withdrawal remains a difficult and ongoing process as the Russian government continues to put new obstacles and starts administrative procedures against those who want to leave the country, Mehren said.
Wintershall Dea is working on various possibilities to exit Russian assets, closing its office in St. Petersburg and returning its expats from Russia, he added.
In March 2022, the company said it would not carry out new oil and gas projects in Russia. At the same time, the company said it would continue to participate in joint ventures in Siberia. However, in January, Wintershall Dea announced its decision to completely withdraw from Russia.
